The Write-Ahead Logging (WAL) is PostgreSQL standard method for ensuring data integrity. WALSync can be seen when log writes are waiting to be acknowledged on ‘durable storage’ aka - disk.
How to reduce this wait​
Ensure the IO subsystem is available and not overloaded.
